Bella appraised Lily coldly wanting to see the effect of her words, wanting to see the misery and heartbreak in the other woman’s expression. She wasn’t disappointed. Shock, confusion and anger were all clearly visible. The only disappointing factor was that she had not cried.
After telling her she had been used as a plaything and toy and how she had never meant anything to her, Bella had definitely expected sobs. Lily stood resolute though with tears welling in her eyes but never spilling. Maybe there was a reason Cissa had picked this Gryffindor. She was stronger than she looked.
