I adore the fact that this challenge is bringing out all sorts of wonderful Luna fic; and I think I like this one best. The idea of Luna finding magic in everything is so nice, and I loved Luna's mental Narcissa-- nasty and fascinating and *sexy*.

Your descriptions and language are completely gorgeous. My favorite bit was Slick already as she imagines how weightless and cold Narcissa's hair would be in her hand, how the back of her neck is probably as bony and white as her son's, seed-pearls for her spine. Wonderful job.

I've never written HP beyond a few Remus drabbles, so I was very happy to receive Luna as part of the assignment - I adore her so much.

Oh cool! I had no idea you were working on a Harry Potter story.

This is gorgeous, of course, and really quite a terrifying look at the power and amorality of desire.

I've no idea if you meant it this way, but I think it also speaks interestingly to some of the concerns that jennyo has raised about Malfoy fic and the whitewashing of characters.

I couldn't get Jen's thoughts about the Malfoys out of my mind, actually - so that, and the amorality of desire *qua* desire, and whether aesthetics can ever be separated from the rest of the world, were very much at the forefront of this.

I haven't read the Potter books, hence don't know the backstory on these characters - but this story is gorgeous. Maybe it's becasue I've been studying fairy tales, but this reads like one, in the best, harshest sense.

And re: your above comment, Gunn/Remus sounds fantastic! (Since I've finally seen PoA, I now adore Remus...)
