There were proper ways of doing anything. It wasn't Hermione's opinion, it just plain fact.
She didn't like to correct people (even though it annoyed everybody), but she just couldn't help it. She didn't want people looking embarrassed. Because if they did, she would undoubtedly be embarrassed, too. Even if she didn't like certain people.
The words would just jump into her throat, and pop out of her mouth, without thinking. She wondered if it was a curse.
Or as some people called her, a jinx. Not literally. It was a wonder someone hadn't put a real jinx on her.
