Title: For Blood and Wine are Red Author: penknife Line from canon: The very same summer that Dumbledore went home to Godric's Hollow, now an orphan and head of the family, Bathilda Bagshot agreed to accept into her home her great-nephew, Gellert Grindelwald. Chapter and book canon quote is found in: Deathly Hollows, Ch. 18 Rating for the story: NC-17 (not sure if this is allowed) Word Count: ~5600 Notes from recommender: This is the most believable, natural depiction of Dumbledore and Grindelwald I've read. I particularly love the historical context of the story, and the author's ability to show Dumbledore as a flawed but sympathetic character. Plus, their intellectual sparring is perfect. Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to use this story because of the rating. I am sorry about that because it is certainly a new take on Dumbledore's character. If you know the author and feel comfortable with the idea, perhaps you could suggest that the story be edited to bring it down to an R rating? I have no problem with the subject matter necessarily, but I do not want to have NC-17 rated material on the site. Thanks for the recommendation anyway, and please don't let this discourage you from recommending other stories. Thanks! Suzanne
