Harry looked up from his work as Albus entered the room. Neville had sent him the names of the new Gryffindor prefects and Harry wasn't sure he'd made the right choices. However, Harry had disagreed before and been proven completely wrong. The choice was Neville's any way; Gryffindor was Neville's house and not his. Al giggled. "I can't imagine you not knowing about... well... stuff, Dad." He straightened his grin into a more serious expression. "I mean, I know it must be difficult. But it's just... Like you said, everything seems so normal..." Al shrugged. "I don't want to, y'know, assume they don't know anything. But I don't want to confuse them or anything either. I know I don't understand everything about muggle life either, but I try... And at least I can.
Al looked down at his foot as he traced shapes on the carpet with it. "I mean... D'you really think it's a good idea... Keeping separate from muggles and stuff? That's why there's people who think that muggles are... less than us, right?"

Al sunk back into the chair, lsiening intently as Harry spoke. In answer to his dad's last question, Al shook his head vigorously, his hair slapping against the back of the chair. "No, course not. I mean... it's all daft, isn't it? That stuff about blood purity. We're all just people."
A troubled expression passed over Al's face before he continued. "But... it's different with muggles. I don't think that wizards are better people than muggles, but... We can do things that they can't. I guess everyone can do things that other people can't. Even if a muggle wanted to, though, they couldn't learn to be a wizard. I can't play the trumpet, but I could learn to if I wanted, right? It just doesn't seem fair."
