This prompt is Shoc's fault.

Ron has a bizarre magical accident, the result of which is that one eye winds up tied behind his head somehow. I mean, it's fixable and all, but looking at everything all backwards and upside down with one eye (but normally with the other) for the several hours in the waiting room it takes for St. Mungo's to get to him has some lasting consequences.

One is that he develops a nasty case of motion sickness that makes it difficult for him to use the various means of magical transport and he certainly can't fly on his own for a while. Another is that with the upside down and backwards eye behind him, he sees how much time Harry spends watching him. Though it takes a while for him to notice this because, you know, upside down and backwards.

Upshot: he needs Harry to help him fly, and realizes his previously unacknowledged feelings may be acknowledgeable and also returned.

Sometimes Harry will wake up early after a late night and make like he's going to get up, but then fall back to sleep with pale white winter light coming in the window, tousled and warm in his blankets, the newspaper he was going to read abandoned beside him.

One of Ron's favorite things about sharing a room with him is waking up to this sight.
