New Theme: COURTSHIP
Hello, hpthemes community, and welcome back to the game of reccing! We have a great lineup of themes for this year! As Valentine's Day is getting closer, we thought the next two themes should be of a romantic nature.
Without further ado, this week's theme is:
COURTSHIP
We know that HP fandom abounds with many wonderful fics featuring Courtship and we are very much looking forward to seeing the recs!
Here is a "dictionary" definition of Courtship in the HP-verse: most frequently refers to a ritual - formalized or not - that a person or couple undertake in order either to deepen/change their relationship, to convince one person to give the other a chance, or to prove fitness for a permanent relationship such as marriage or bond.
Sometimes one character is "pursuing" another, or "wooing" or "seducing" etc. We would like those to be separate themes, so this time we are asking only for fanworks featuring a formalized courtship. However if it seems unclear or if there is a mixture of formal courtship/pursuit/wooing all in the same work, then simply just let us know so we can tag them correctly. You can explain it in your comment.
We do ask that you tell us
-Courtship Type: the general structure of the ritual (contest, marriage law, meeting before an arranged marriage, acceptance of bond, proving one's worth, old-fashioned introduction, other?)
