Re: Snape getting the sword - In The Prince's Tale, I think we see him take it out of the secret compartment in the headmaster's office. I like the idea of him getting it from the sorting hat, but that doesn't seem to be what happened.

Yes, he did pull it out of the compartment behind Dumbledore's portrait.

Remember, only a Gryffindor can take the sword out of courage, nerve, and chivalry? It seems that every non-Gryffindor in the book had to get it through cunning.

I know...I just think he was a true Gryffindor at heart, which is why he was able to get the sword.

He didn't "get" it, though... it was already in the office from when Dumbledore left.

Ah, but he did look directly into Harry's eyes. He was looking into them when he died. So he could see his love's eyes one last time.

Moony
Wormtail
Padfoot
Prongs
Now I only have books 6 and 7, but isn't that the order of the names on the map? And it's sort of odd how they all died it that order. (bottom to top)

But would he have died for Harry considering that he thought he was a waste just like his father?
