I'm bored - live with it

Neville lay exhausted against the wall. He'd tried banging on the door, yelling, even setting off the ward alarms on the wardrobe by tugging on the handle, but it was all useless. He couldn't remember the last time he had eaten, and staying warm was using up his body's energy, fast. He was shivering and starving, and he'd wondered more than once ( Read more... )

Bellatrix had of course put a silencing charm on the room. She couldn't have the screaming of a Neville Longbottom interferring with her daily tasks. As much as she thought it would make lovely background music for her home, she couldn't risk anyone unwelcome hearing the filthy creature.

As she strode down the stairs, looked forward to seeing the look on his face when he saw her. She made her visits rare so that they were all the more special. But she had a craving now, for his scream and for blood.

She'd been letting her sister have all the fun, but no more. Bella was going to make sure this Longbottom did not forget who is mistress truly is. And she would do it her own way.

Finally, she was standing in front of the door. It wouldn't be long now, before she would taste the feeling of power again.

His throat raw from yelling and his hands bleeding, Neville collapsed by the door. Perhaps death wouldn't be so bad, he reflected.

Bella pulled open the heavy door and looked down to see Neville sprawled on the floor before her. She grinned.

"How sweet. You were so excited to see me that you were waiting by the door. Just like a pet animal," she mocked in a falsy sweet voice.

She took a long step over his body, and looked around the room with a look of disgust.

At the sound of her voice, he cracked open his eyes and stared up at her. "You came," he croaked, weakly.

One of Neville's legs tried to buckle, but he refused to let it, standing as straight as he could. He had to say it again, he understood, but he wasn't sure he could find the strength. "I...I..."

Glaring at the boy, she ground her teeth together momentarily.

"Well?" she asked expectantly, before rolling her eyes. She turned away and walked a few steps away from him so that he was facing her back. It was as if she were daring him to try something.

He shook his head, not understanding, though of course she couldn't see. "I don't know what you want," he stammered, hugging his arms close to his bare chest.

Really, Neville wasn't meant to understand what it was she wanted from him. Or, at least, he couldn't have understood without delving into the mind of Bellatrix Lestrange, and that was something no poor soul would want to try.

She turned on her heel, slowly, so that she was looking at him at an angle now. After a moment's pause, she spoke with fervor. "I think we should have a reenactment!" She was often jumping from topic to topic without notice, and this happened even moreso when she was riled up.
