[Contention Meeting]

May 26, 2007 15:02

The only place Terry figured everybody would be somewhat comfortable was the Great Hall. That and it was the only place large enough to hold everybody and not feel squished. Not to mention that if they tried to meet in a dorm, there would be some people that wouldn't feel comfortable (houses carried a long way, it seemed ( Read more... )

Hugging her arms around her middle, Hermione cautiously entered the Great Hall. She walked quickly to her old spot at the Gryffindor table. Not moving, she sat there, waiting for everyone else to arrive so she could get back up to Bi- her room.

Parvati, on the other hand, looked a lot more cheerful about everyone meeting in the Great Hall. It wasn't exactly the epitome of where she wanted to go, the room always bringing back old memories that made her just miss everything about those few years ago, but it was better than sitting around her room. And so, with a very slight hop to her step, Par entered the Great Hall and sat down at the Gryffindor table as well, straddling the bench and facing Hermione.

"This should be interesting, hm?" she whispered to Hermione, the large room making her voice seem even smaller.

Hermione nodded silently. "I'm just ready for it to be over honestly."

Sitting there for a moment, she figured it wouldn't be polite to just ignore Parvati, so she chose a subject she knew the other girl would want to talk about. "Oliver is coming, right?"

"Mhmm! If all goes well he'll be here," she said, grinning quickly before looking down and trying to make it stop. Parvati was excited he was going to be there, of course, but she didn't want to be too cheery about it, especially when it was obvious Hermione wasn't in the best of moods.

Being back at Hogwarts gave Hannah an odd feeling. She wasn't sure what it was, but she knew that it was at least somewhat comforting. Seeing all the runaways here made her feel better about everything. She was glad Tonks picked her up, now.

Oliver had left to go off somewhere, which had Hannah standing in the doorway alone. There weren't many people here at the moment and she hoped that this wasn't the entire contention. They had a long way to go if it was.

Terry saw the new girl come in and stood, moving toward her. "You're new here, right? My name is Terry Boot and I'm glad you could be here." He offered a smile and his hand, glad that they had someone else. If he had heard right, the girl came from Tonks... and she was familiar looking.

"Hannah," she said, taking the offered hand. "Tonks told me about this. And she said you needed a healer?" Not that she was ready just at this moment, but it would be good that the Contention knew about it.

"Yes, a healer would be wonderful. They were either killed or bought first... so it's hard to get one here." Terry let his hand drop, the smile still on his face. "How is it with Tonks?"

It would have been nice if Lisa could say that she'd paid enough attention to know exactly what this meeting was about, but that would be a lie. Of course, even if she had paid attention, she was more than a bit sure that there was a part of her that would decide that she didn't care unless this had something to do with the eventual fall of Voldemort.

She entered the great hall without bothering to look joyed to be there, and it was habit that led her to the Ravenclaw table to sit. Old habits really did die hard.

Terry scowled at Hannah as she went to sit at the old Hufflepuff table. Honestly, he just couldn't understand some girls. He threw her a dirty look that he wasn't sure she caught before letting his eyes trace the rest of the room. More people had arrived that he didn't see.

Spotting Lisa had been both a surprised and... not so much a surprise. Putting a smile on his face, Terry walked over to her and sat down. "Fancy meeting you here," he said, trying to sound friendly and not irritable.

Lisa smiled slightly at Terry as he sat down, not noticing if he was irritated or not. "As opposed to the library? I thought it might be nice if I actually had an idea of what was going on around here for once."

"Doesn't seem to be too much," Terry said, glancing around. "If you stayed in the library, you probably would have found more excitement. And I really don't think I'm joking on that one."
