Socializing At The Castle

Apr 03, 2007 14:38

Voldemort set his crystal wine glass down and glanced lazily around the room. He sighed and flipped his bangs so they were out of his eyes, he knew he should have used a hair spell tonight. A smirk came to his face at the thought, he was finally able to use those kinds of spells again. Soon after the end of the war, he had forced all the Healers at ( Read more... )

After sending Ginny back with the rest of the slaves to the spare room where they were locked up, Cissa had spent the evening on her husband's arm and socializing with her friends. Hearing the smooth voice of her lord behind her, she turned around and gazed up at him. "Yes, my lord?"

Sending her a crooked smile Voldemort motioned for her to come closer to him.

"You asked to meet with me, Cissa, darling. What was it that you wanted to speek with me about?"

Sending a wave of goodbye over to her sister, Cissa stepped close to Voldemort and said lowly. "Just a small legal matter, my lord. Perhaps it is best not spoken of in public."

He sent her his a smooth smile and nodded his head.

"And where would you like to move this conversation, Lady Malfoy?" He lifted his glass back to his lips and took a small sip, never once taking his blood red eyes off her pale face.

Tonks hoped very much that this wouldn't be a long meeting, even as she watched Voldemort walk away with her aunt. The man, if he could be called that, gave her the creeps and always had. As soon as he was out of the room, she breathed a bit easier and forced herself not to repeatedly glance at the clock.

Lucius had noticed his niece watching both his wife and the clock when Narcissa disappeared with The Dark Lord. He had considered watching the clock himself, but decided conversation would be better. After all, his Slave was with the others as he had promised he would be, and his wife was being chatted up by The Dark Lord. It was only fair that he entertain himself.

"Ah, my darling niece."

A lion in a den of snakes. Tonks turned her head to the side and smiled warmly at him. "Lucius. You're looking quite well if I do say so."

He inclined his head. "And you. Not one to mingle with the others, still? Or is it because you're expecting them to call you by that ridiculous name you were given?" He smirked, ever amused that the poor child had been cursed from birth with such an unflattering name. He himself refused to use it if it was avoidable.

Bellatrix entered the event with the upmost excitement. After throwing her new slave in with the other filth, she made her way to the elite gathering. These were some of the most highly regarded witches and wizards, by Bella at least. Now she knew some of them weren't to be completely trusted. Like Snape, for instance. She'd never completely trusted that man. But no matter. Tonight she would see her master. The Dark Lord ( ... )

After making sure, in no uncertain terms, that if the guard so much as lifted a finger against 'Nathaniel' that they would meet a very painful, sticky end for daring to touch property that wasn't theirs, Severus moved towards the main room where everyone was gathered. Spotting Lucius talking to Tonks -- he'd never seen that one coming and that was saying something -- his eyes passed over the collective idiots that couldn't count their toes without having to start over a half dozen times ( ... )

While Severus Snape may not have been high on Bella's list of those she wished to speak to that night, she surely wasn't going to shoo him away at the moment. She'd been bored out of her mind for the time she'd been at the event so far. With the options she had, Snape looked like prime entertainment.

She took the opportunity to get away from the simpletons who surrounded her, and turned just in time to hear Snape speaking to her. She threw her hand up in disgust as if that were answer enough to his question, yet still proceeded to reply. "I will have you, know, Severus, that I was in no way intending to mingle with such feeble-minded drones." Her tone was indignant, and some of the surrounding wizards/witches gave her annoyed looks. She paid them no mind.

"And what about you? I didn't take you for the...party type."

"Mmm, appearances can be deceiving then because it certainly did look that that," he smirked at her and ignored the baleful glares. If he had a sickle for every time he was glared at...

"That's because I'm not, but as Lucius is wont to remind me, one must get out of the lab every so often or grow cobwebs and dust." He rolled his shoulders in a movement very much like a shrug. "Better that my evening out is spent with people of like minds than those who have less brains than the dog dung on the bottom of their shoes."

Stepping back into the ballroom, Narcissa searched for Lucius. Noticing him by a table full of drinks, she quickly walked to him and slipped her arm around his. "Hello darling," she said, putting on an air of confidence.

Lord Voldemort strolled back into the large room full of his Death Eaters. He didn't bother looking for anyone to talk with, they would come to him. He walked over to his throne with his head held high and his red eyes narrowed into deadly slits, he was now in a sour mood. If he had to meet with Lady Malfoy again he wasn't sure what he would do.

He sat at his throne and searched for the drink he had left here earlier. He needed another drink to calm his frayed nerves, he didn't want to kill the first person who approached him, he could have smiled at his comment, who was he kidding? Killing someone would probably help his mood. Depeneded on who dared to approach him.
