Sticky Post - HvZ Application
The basics
1. Name please! Noah Bennet
2. Age 47 Birthday, August 6, 1962
3. What power(s) does she/he have? Badassery
3a. Give us your understanding of how his/her power works He exists, therefore he is badass.
3b. How does your character use his/her power? (i.e. to do good deeds, for selfish reasons, barely at at all, etc.) Noah doesn't have to tell you to what ends he uses his badassery.

The past
4. What's your understanding of the character's canon past? If your character is too minor to have one, write N/A and proceed to question #4
Noah Bennet was a happy used car salesman with a wife and son. One day a special broke into their apartment and killed his wife. He took it upon himself to hunt him down and kill him as revenge. Along the way, he learned the world was filled with specials and he became a vigilente, killing specials.
His extra curricular activitites attracted the attention of The Company who hired him. He trained under Claude Rains and was, eventually, made his partner.
He was told to marry, that a family would provide him with balance. The Company had vetted a suitable woman for him and he married her.
He was entrusted with the care and raising of an orphaned baby girl, Claire. Claire melted his heart for the first time since the death of his wife and unbenownst to The Company his loyalty shifted from The Company to Claire. When he was unable to keep Claire's ability secret from the Company he set up an elaborate plan to hide her. Which failed.
He's fucked up a lot of people's lives including his family's. He's currently separated from his wife pending divorce court. His son doesn't want to see him. (lulz Thanksgiving episode.)
He's on shaky ground with his daughter, his reason for living, and he's currently unemployed.
He's also reconnected with an old flame partner recently, Lauren.

Some additional things...
- Claude and Noah had a secret relationship at one point and Claude was often invited to the Bennett household and babysat Claire and Lyle.
- Lyle was also an orphan with special parents that Noah was asked to adopt.
- Sandra is unable to conceive. Noah is not certain if she was picked to be his wife specifically because of that or not.
- Noah has a habit of getting involved with his partners.
- He played tuba in high school and with a bit of practice could oompahpah like a pro
The present
6. What was your character doing/what did they do when the apocalypse began? Noah was in DC trying to hunt down Samuel Sullivan and stressing about Claire.
7. How did your character get to the house?
He left a note and a gun for Claire, should she come to his apartment, then set off taking care of certain tasks that needed to get done. He found himself at Claire's university dorm but the campus had been overrun and there was no sign of Claire anywhere. He did, however, run into Claire's room mate Gretchen. They travelled together for close to three weeks before finding the house.
The future
8. Beyond the obvious short term goal of 'survive' what are your character's plans for when things come to an end. If you play a zombie, will he/she look forward to death once more or will they have hoped to have found some kind of curse? Noah has more plans than a sane
person would know what to do with. He'd like to find love again but the apocalypse has convinced him he needs to be out there protecting 'normal' people again.
The write stuff
9. In character, give us 2-3 paragraphs on any topic that tickles your fancy. Again, the sample should be written in third-person past tense.
He missed Texas. DC was crowded and filled with politicians. In Texas it was legal to shoot politicians. If it wasn't legal, well, nobody paid it much mind when you did it so it might as well have been.
Most importantly, he was alone in DC. He hadn't been alone in twenty five years. He felt rootless, floating, unfocussed and the only thing that got him out of bed in the morning was decades of habit.
It was worse than when he'd been The Company's prisoner. At least then he'd had escape to focus on. There was no escape from this, this was his life now.
That was a lie, of course, he could escape if he wanted to. He'd just have to put a bullet through his own head and bam, problem solved.
He'd thought about it. He'd lost two families now. Lyle wouldn't talk to him any more, Sandra had already moved on, and now Claire was drifting away from him, too. He hated being alone with his thoughts. He needed something to keep his mind occupied.
The telephone rang and his heart skipped a beat. He looked at the caller display and tried to keep calm, "Hi Clairebear," he said as if he'd just been doing someting important. "Of course you can use my washer. You know you're always welcome here. I love you too, Clairebear."
He felt his thoughts come into focus again. She'd be here tomorrow. He'd be okay for another day.
