I miss my mom.  I got some flowers today so I could take them to the cemetery after church tomorrow.  She wasn't feeling well Mother's Day of 1997, and the following Sunday she passed away.  She would never know she would one day be a grandmother.  My brother and his wife were still newly weds;  the first grandchild would not arrive until 18 months ( Read more... )

I never had the pleasure of meeting your mother, but from what you've told me, she couldn't be disappointed in you for being you. Like all of us who love you, she hopes for you to be happy.

It is a beautiful day. Sending big hugs your way!

Thanks for your caring thoughts. It's funny, but most of my friends who I have known for 15 years or less never met mom. When she got sick she didn't venture out of the house, not even to see my plays. I think she would have liked all the new people I've met in these past many years, like you and Grant. I think she would have been tickled that I made your wedding dress, especially since I made her dresses for my sister's and then my brother's weddings. (She chose the one from my sister's wedding to be buried in. She planned a lot of things 6 months in advance it seems.)

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's day.

I don't know why this Mother's Day I felt her loss more than usual, but it's nice to know that there are others who understand. Thanks for your kind thoughts. Looking forward to seeing your svelte self sometime again soon.
