my uncle died yesterday. he was flying his beloved Hawker Hunter, the Blue Max II, after the airshow in Hillsboro, Oregon. he appears to have suffered a mechanical failure. and jet fighters have glide ratios about like rocks.

but he managed to bring it down without injuring anyone else on the ground. so that's good.

we'll miss him.

well, kinda. he's also the one who crashed a plane onto a house and lived (1989).

interestingly enough, this time he also hit a house.
