In the 1970s, people working at the top law firms in the US earned an average of $15,000/per year while assistant district attorneys (ada) earned an average of $10,000.

there are ways to have some of those loans waived/deferred depending on what kind of public interest law you go into. also there are fellowships out there that will help to pay your loans if you have a compelling program/project that gets selected (ie. skadden, soros, NAPIL). let me know if i can help...

glad you feel me and i didn't know that you are an attorney! what a great suprise :)
i'm definitely going to apply for post graduate fellowships. unfortunately, the LRAP at my school is barely existent.
were you able to secure a fellowship for your work w/families in crisis?

i got an echoing green fellowship... but they didn't help me with my loans. i got some of my loans cancelled because of the kind of loan it was and they had a list of cancellation provisions that i qualified for...it was the federal perkins loan. i will e-mail you with more info... hang in there, sis!
