Y'all know I homeschool my son. I think most of you also know that today we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Day today. The Sithling knows the broad strokes of what Dr. King was about, but I thought we'd look up some more in-depth information. We're also gonna watch Oprah's show on it. I work in a library. I once went to a class about how to answer reference questions, and that website was the example given of why you need to know your sources before you pass them on to the patrons.

Ah, yes, Stormfront... *sigh*

I taught a critical thinking class for middle school students, and one of the things we talked about was judging source material, picking out when someone is editorializing and not just presenting facts...

It's an important lesson, and I'm glad you didn't hide this from your son, but are discussing it.
