Super-Fam Meetup, Post #3

I've narrowed down the meet-up location to two places, Chicago IL and Metropolis IL/Paducah KY for June 14-16, 2013 Here are the benefits of each one:

Chicago:
*better transportation hub for many - a major airport, bus hub and metro system
*looks like MegaBus.com has a lot of routes to Chicago for good prices

Oh, I can't come as I may still have exams at this point. :( I'll be there in spirit then!

Will there be another meet up if this one is successful?

As far as expenses with hotel rooms go, if you choose to have the meet-up in that area, since I am from the Chicago area, I'd be more than happy to make recommendations for areas. Staying outside of the city in the suburbs is a far less expensive option Chicago city taxes, yikes. There are train lines out to the suburbs from the city. But since footage from Metropolis was filmed in Chicago if you wanted to do the official meet-up in the city itself, I can't argue with that. But trust me, Plano would be wayyyyyy out there from CHicago to go drive to, a few hours at least.

Regardless, I could help steer you in a direction for certain areas that are safe in the city, those to stay away from, etc. Just let me know if you decide CHicago works. As for a hotel room? I would not need one, I could stay with either of my parents or my sister.

If I end up taking the bus (it's REALLY cheap), then I'd be dropped at Union Station. What is that area of the city like? There seem to be a couple major theatres with public transportation access within a couple of miles, it looks like.

I'm still iffy-I would like to, but the new year brought lots of increased bills, and I've already got one out of state trip planned for sure :/

But if I do come, definitely Chicago.
