i'm 17 and i've learned a little from high school and all the good stuff from myself, just working online, i especially like http://www.w3schools.com :D
i have taught myself all that i know. in my honest opinion, you don't need to go to school to get an "eye" for art- you either have it- or don't.
there are tutorials out there on EVERYTHING. teach yourself one program language at a time until you excel in it- start small, you can't learn to code in notepad if you start out that way! i used many a free trial too in my early days. i have invested in a good pc and laptop as well as PSP. my dad gave me PS for free- so that rocked.
PS and Flash both are very good. i am working on learning flash right now, myself.
I learnt everything i know by lots of practise and experience. In my experience, training courses are pretty crappy - they don't teach you very modern techniques and often actively encourage bad habits.
Check out the aforementioned w3schools. That's one of the most useful sites on the net.
Learn flash, but learn not to over use it. Flash should be for vector animations and banner adverts (IMHO) and putting bitmaps or navigation (let alone content) in it is a very bad idea.
