So my entry is in words

Ok, so as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted by a 2-hour power outage...
Got up at 7, or some similar ungodly hour of the morning on friday. We then proceeded to drive for 5+ hours to Las Vegas, very boring. During said drive I tried to read The Grapes of Wrath , but that proved to be equally if not more boring so I gave it up. Hokay, so we got to our hotel, The Orleans, checked in, got the smell of smoke all over us, and left for dinner. Ok I just wrote my whole entry then it got erased back to here which is the last time I previewed. This is why I never update. Anyhow we had dinner with my 2nd cousin the priest and his family who live here. We played Monopoly, had dinner and left.

Saturday we slept in, did some stuff I don't remember that probably involved breakfast, and left for my first baseball game. The tournament, which was the only reason I was in Vegas, was being held at a lawnmower-challenged field like 30 minutes away. I don't know who decided we should stay at The Orleans because it's not that good a hotel and it's not even close to the field. Anyway, the team we played sucked and we won 13-2. The priest-cousin's family came to see me as did my aunt, uncle, and 1st cousin from Van Nuys. After the game the priest-cousin's family showed my family around his church. It looked nice and all, but was boring as all hell. No pun intended. So after that the priest-cousin and family, my family, and my aunt, uncle, and cousin ate a buffet dinner at the Las Vegas Hilton, which was quite good. Once we got back to the Orleans, we saw a lot of people dressed up as pimps and hoes. Turns out The Orleans has an annual Pimp and Ho Costume Party. I was like where's Christine. Anyway, went to bed.

Sunday I had to get up early for a 10 am game. I might add that it was like 100 degrees with no wind at the field. We lost the first game 9-1 to a team that required its members to pay $2500 to get on it and the played a second game and lost 10-2 to another team. We thought we were out of the tournament and one kid even went home. We went to dinner with the same people as the previous night at Jerry's Golden Nugget. I had BBQ ribs. They were good. We got a call saying we weren't actually out of the tournament, but since the one kid left and two kids were injured we only had 8 players and didn't even bother showing up for the game the next day. After dinner my dad got me a chip from the casino there as a souvenir. So I decided to get a $1 chip from every casino I visited in Vegas. I know have chips from: Jerry's Golden Nugget, Mandalay Bay, The Orleans, Barbary Coast, Paris Paris/Bally's, what we thought was Circus Circus but was in fact "Slots A Fun", Bellagio, Excalibur, MGM Grand, New York-New York, Riviera, The Venetian, a $1 token from Caesar's Palace because they're above $1 chips, Flamingo, Las Vegas Hilton, and Luxor. After dinner, I bowled a few games. I like bowling, I've decided.

Monday we basically just walked the Strip. It was boring. We went to some casino and the M&M Store and Coca-Cola Store. They were equally not exciting. After the Strip-walking, my aunt, uncle, and cousin went back to Van Nuys. That night we had dinner at the Bellagio and went to a hypnotism show. It was pretty funny, I would recommend hypnotism shows in general. The hypnotist said he wouldn't humiliate the people who volunteered. He lied. There were a bunch of skits and things that I don't have the patience to relate. We went back to the hotel after that and packed.

Tuesday we got up early, had breakfast at the Venetian, and left. We stopped at an outlet mall at the state line for two hours and I got like 7 shirts but no shorts. Then we drove for like 4 more hours and got home. And then I started to update but there was a goddamn power outage.

Things I've learned: The desert is unreasonably hot. The only thing free in Vegas is parking. All the casinos have the same stuff. Everywhere is smoky.
