February is the shortest month, that's why.
I decided to make a picture a day for February, to see if I could. Unless you count doodles when I am talking on the telephone, this is more art than I usually I draw in a year. (What I am secretly hoping is that drawing more pictures will enable me, eventually, draw better pictures.) This week it's mostly characters from manga/anime.
Klaus didn't take much time, so I did another. I find shadows hard to conceptualize so I often just do whatever I feel like. Hey!
I thought of a few other ways to do the net that would have been better, but only after I'd done it.
2 in one day again! Even though I started this with the simple goal of joining everything up... looking at it I still count more than 10 places where I forgot to bother. And I was still SO CONSTRAINED by the effort that his shadow became a scribbly lobster man-monster. XD
He has the look on his face of someone who caught a whiff of a lobster man-monster, maybe.
Tanpopo! Fun to say. Himawari! She's so great. Orange is my favorite color, but yellow is nice too.
This one made me think of Each Word's A Beat of My Heart1 so I listened to a lot of Mink Deville while working on it. Mustang is cool because he's got this mass, he's got presence - and he's a short guy but when we saw him with his shirt off2 in 39 the first thing I thought of was Yul Brynner as Pharaoh in the Ten Commandments, where he looks like he's got extra!organs packing up his torso3. Anyway Roy needed to be squashed some here.
