Doh! I saw on the disaster email list I'm on that parts of Illinois had lost power, but I missed the Ohio and Kentucky part, damn!

I've only just realised that this means my in-laws may be without power too. Fucknuggets. I hope they're OK.

I feel your pain, my Grandpa in Ohio lost power and phone service. We couldn't get in touch with him for a few days and had to have the neighbor who had a cell phone check in on him. Also, the roof of my elementary school in Hudson, Ohio was blown off. :*( I loved that school. As far as I know, Grandpa is still without power and phone service. And while he can get out because he can still drive, it's worrisome because he's pretty old.
