The exception I'd add for the shower is if it's cold, I will close the door to keep the bathroom warm!

I voted yes to everything, but that's because the next door neighbors can see right into my bathroom if I leave it open so maybe I'm skewing your answers.

i gave my answers imagining that i have a more ideal bathroom. in my current bathroom the door is generally always closed if i'm in it for anything... brushing teeth or hair included, because it's very small and the door is in the way. in my last apartment the door would always be open, because you'd actually have to make a fairly extreme effort to get the door to close if you wanted it to, and then the cats would freak out and try to claw it back open!

in our new place i've found it helpful to have a cat scratch pad hanging from the doorknob. i think it distracts them enough if they ever do try to force their way in.
