I always have to wonder about the lack of design and planning of the bay area freeways. The southern route over the San Mateo bridge is completely snarled having been quickly overwhelmed by the increased traffic. This is somewhat expected, but tonight it will be far worse. The simple fact of the matter is that if everyone got out of their cars right now, public transit will be swamped and people will get back into their cars. It's a chicken and egg problem, and the only way we will solve it is to stop *blaming* drivers and taxing them, and agree that public transit/mobility is a civil right and something worth funding.
