I know everyone is doing it...
But, wtf. Virgin America is now charging $20 per bag, per flight, for even your first checked bag. So that's $40 extra on top of the ticket price, just to bring luggage. Not to mention, you can't pre-pay for this shit, so you now need to have a credit card ready to do your web check in. I can only imagine the hell that will come when I submit 3 ( Read more... ) -

For those keeping score, I made it as far as the bottom of my driveway, and not necessarily in one piece. About halfway down the driveway as I hopped on the bike, I threw the chain, causing the derailer to jam into the spokes of the rear wheel, the pedals to spin freely, and me to be thrown completely off balance. I was about to attempt to bike/Bart/bike to work this morning. I gave myself 6:1 odds of not making it. I haven't actually been on my bike since, oh, last year, when I got on it and decided it was so f'd up it needed to go into the shop for a serious overhaul. Instead of doing any of the 100 things on my to-do list, I have spent the day filing complaints with the CA AG's office and US postal inspector over mail fraud. Huh? One one level, this does not surprise me, but as far as sheer audacity goes...wow. The same day. I at least expected them to wait 2-3 months to pull a stunt like this. -

It appears that my yahoo email account, which I don't use anymore, got hacked. So if you got spam from me, sorry. It was probably an isolated incident, but I spent the morning going through most of my accounts with the same or similar usernames and passwords and changed them all. Go BART Workers & Other Rants About Working for the Public Sector
I'm glad that BART workers were able to hammer out a deal and avoid a strike, but mostly for personal and selfish reasons. It keeps other people off the roads and out of my way. Of the comments and attitudes surrounding the whole situation, the following pissed me off the most.
