Summary: AU. Dan is roped into giving campus tours to potential students
In the end it had probably been way too easy for Martin and Daniel figured he should be at least a little bit ashamed but with the boy still sprawled across him he couldn’t find it in himself to care. He stretched lightly and the boy shifted blinking sleepy eyes and looking up at Dan. The Dane took in the still slightly swollen lips and the bruise that had formed on his neck and smiled softly.
“Hey.” He spoke quietly.
“Hey... Danny?”
“Hmmm?”
“Do you regret it?” Martin asked, worrying his bottom lip.
Dan reached up and released Martin’s lip from between his punishing teeth; he bent his head and dropped a soft kiss against it before speaking.
“No, go back to sleep, Kells. It’s still early.”
Still half-asleep Martin nodded and turned his head into Daniel’s chest. A smile on his face Daniel closed his eyes and fell back to sleep.
The Morning Before
Daniel leaned against the wall outside the student access office at his college. Today was college day and somehow Daniel had gotten roped into giving tours. It was all Carra’s fault really, Daniel had been a little late for practice and this was his punishment; showing a bunch of high school kids the campus. It wasn’t exactly his idea of a good time. He’d much rather be at his dorm working on sketches or out kicking a ball with the lads. But such wasn’t his luck he though sullenly.
“Daniel, I’ve got a small group here for you.” The elder lady running the tours called out to him.
“Alright.” Daniel replied.
He went over to where a group of five or six teenagers were gathered. No parents, Daniel noted. Parents were worse because they always had a million questions that usually had no influence on the kid’s decision to choose this college.
“Hey guys, I’m Daniel. I’m in my second year here and am going to be giving you guys a quick tour.” Daniel spoke to the group.
Daniel noticed the boy’s friend first; admiring the football jersey the lad wore. The boy said something quietly to his friend who simply rolled his eyes. Then the boy smiled and Daniel was drawn in slightly. Then the smile was turned on him and he watched as it slowly became a smirk. Shaking his head he realised he was staring and he quickly looked away. The boy was most definitely trouble. Barely legal trouble.
“Let’s get this tour started. Feel free to ask any questions.”
“I have a question, Danny.” The boy said raising his hand slightly.
He didn’t know how to feel about the boy calling him Danny. Most of his friends called him Dan but something about the way this kid said Danny had him smiling.
“Do you tour the residences as well?”
It was an innocent and quite common question but the kid delivered it with almost imperceptible innuendo and a quick wink.
“No that’s run separate from the residence booth outside the library.”
“Pity.” The kid responded with another smirk.
Trouble. With a capital T.
Daniel started the tour, stopping at all the pre-determined spots and rambling off their informative spiels. They were a decent group; didn’t ask a lot of questions and didn’t walk as slow as Daniel’s last group.
“What program are you in?” a petite blonde looked away from her phone long enough to ask.
“I’m in my second year of Art & Design.”
“You design that?”
It was the boy again and this time he was pointing at the bottom half of the sleeve tattoo that decorated his arm and was peeking out from under his t-shirt. Daniel fought the urge to tug the sleeve down as if in hiding it from the boy he’d better be able to resist him.
“Err... yeah I did.”
“I bet you have lots.”
“That’s really not relevant.”
Thankfully they were just arriving at the cafeteria and Daniel quickly launched into his spiel before the boy pressed the situation.
“If you live in residence you can get a meal plan which can be used here.” Daniel explained.
“Do you live in residence?” (Again the boy)
“Yes.”
“Which dorm?”
“That’s really not important.”
“How about a private tour? I’d love to see your dorm.”
Daniel’s pulse jumped at the thought and he fought to control himself.
“Jesus Kells, could you be any more obvious.” The friend teased with a light shove.
“Shut it Jay.” The boy retorted, shoving back.
For his own sanity Daniel decided to ignore the comment and continue on with the tour. It wasn’t that he wasn’t attracted to the boy; it was quite the opposite in face. If Daniel had run into this guy at a bar he’d gladly take him home for a quick fuck. But this wasn’t a bar and despite the looks and flirting he was still just a boy. A boy that no doubt would come with sticky attachments.
It wasn’t long before they were back at the student access office having concluded the tour. The majority of the group dispersed rather quickly, not too surprisingly the boy wasn’t one of them. Daniel watched as he exchanged a few words with his friend before walking up to him.
“I’m Martin Kelly by the way.” The boy said with a smile.
“You’re still not getting a rez tour from me, Martin.” Daniel answered with a grin of his own.
He couldn’t help but he charmed by the kid a little. As if sensing the weakness Martin took a step closer.
“Well now, I don’t need a tour of the whole rez. Just one room would be sufficient.”
“Daniel?”
The Dane was saved by one of the other students giving tours coming up to him. As the other guy approached Daniel took a step away from Martin, thankful for the chance to clear his head.
“You can go grab yourself some lunch now. They have a table set up upstairs.”
“Thanks.” Daniel nodded to the guy and turned back to Martin.
The younger boy hadn’t left and was still standing there smiling at Daniel.
“Well I’m off to grab some lunch; I hope you enjoyed the town.”
“Oh I did.”
“Bye, Martin Kelly.” Daniel said with a smile.
Martin just grinned as he watched Daniel walk away. He was entering the stairwell when he heard him shouting after him.
“I’ll see you later, Danny.”
Daniel couldn’t help but chuckle, the boy sure was persistent. Daniel found himself laughing again when he was outside his dorm and in the process of pulling out his keys a scrap of paper fell to the ground. Confused he picked it up and upon unfolding it saw a phone number written under the name Martin Kelly.
He put the number back into his pocket ignoring it until later that night when he was sitting at the pub a block away from the dorms. His buddy Skrtel had come out with him but was bailing early to work on some essay and Daniel wasn’t ready to head back just yet. After asking for another beer he fished the number out of his pocket and placed it down on the bar. His phone was sitting beside it and he was still staring at them when the bartender placed his beer down.
“Get a grip, Agger.” He said to himself.
He took a drink of his beer and then picked up his phone. He sent Martin a text. One word; the name of the pub. Daniel hit send still not certain if he should be doing this, either way the message was sent now.
An hour later he was in a booth arguing football with Martin. The boy hadn’t needed to ask who the text was from just sent a reply; ‘about time, Danny’ and had shown up within half an hour in dark jeans and a Beatles t-shirt. Daniel was leaning back against the seat with one arm stretched out resting on the top of the booth. Martin stopped to take a drink his cheeks a little flushed. Hip lips were moist from the beer he was drinking and they looked so inviting. Daniel gave a soft self-deprecating chuckle before leaning in and capturing Martin’s mouth. The kiss was soft, almost chaste but it had Daniel’s mind racing forward. Martin slid closer on the bench seat his hand resting on Daniel’s thigh.
“Still want that tour? Daniel asked, his voice coming out husky.
“God yes.” Martin answered before crashing their mouths back together
