A few words on Paraguay

I read At the Tomb of the Inflatabe Pig: Travels through Paraguay by John Gimlette last Christmas and was hooked on seeing Paraguay.  Much of my planning the last few months was to get to Paraguay before I ran out of cash.  The country is not any bigger than California, and one whole region, the Chaco, is almost impassible any time of year.  An ( Read more... )

Sounds amazing :) Paraguay and Ecuador are the countries still remaining on my Latin America checklist!

"You have a gift for vivid and discriptive detail" I passed on a three week escorted 10 person kayaking trip to Paraguay two years ago only because of the expense ($6000). I'm still planning to do this but on my own with a couple friends. I think it will be sooner than later.

That's a bit expensive for the region, but I am sure the accomodation would be awesome!
