Congrats on being sober for almost 3 years! Wow! Three kids now! I am glad for you having a wonderful family and career. I feel the same way about missing friends and old times, just having "work friends" up here in Northern Illinois. I have a wonderful husband and good job, but catch myself thinking about old friends and college days. I feel your pain and loneliness. You and the guys were fun to hang out with.

I feel your pain man. The NAS wasn't just a cute name for a group of friends. It was a bond, a family. And I miss it like crazy. Every part of me wants to bend and twist my current reality to make it so again. But like you said, we can never go back. And to try would be disaster. But how I wish we could all be together everyday again.
But I take comfort I knowing that we will always be brothers. There will not come a time when one of us won't welcome the other into their home etc. That is a bond few adults have. Gretchen is right that no matter how much we enjoy our current lives we will always miss what came before. Those were mythical times.
I also sympathize with you and Gretchen In that all I have here are work friends and family members and that is so not the same. But dude I will be there this summer garunteed. We will rock the party as flight of the conchords would say.
