I've just finished reading The Seduction of the Crimson Rose by Lauren Willig.  It's the fourth book in her Secret History of the Pink Carnation series, and it is just spectacular!  The majority of the series takes place in early 19th century Britain, among the aristocrats who are, as patriots are wont to do, helping their beloved country.  SPIES ( Read more... )

I really like them. Outlander is, of course, on a level completely by itself, but in terms of making me happy when I read it, I love this series too. Each of the four books focuses on two characters in the spy group. The premise of the entire arc is a graduate history student from Harvard is doing research in England for her dissertation, so each book is research she uncovers from various places.
