A little trivia: FDR moved Thanksgiving.
I'm not kidding! He moved it! Before it was sorta a flexible thing at the President's discretion, and all the presidents followed Lincoln's example and chose the last Thursday.
Roosevelt, however, wanted us to do more Christmas shopping so he moved it to the 4th Thursday, which is not always the last. ( ( Read more... )
