They had all become assholes.
So my friends and I watched the entire first season dub of Hetalia last night.
And let me tell you
I THINK I JUST ATE A FUCKING RAINBOW THAT WAS SO FABULOUS
Yeah, but seriously. For all the hate the dub has gotten, it was damn funny. I know, there were a few lines were we were all like "Did they seriously just put that in? Hetalia wank is going to be all over that", but really guys, I counted about 5 or 6 of those lines out of all 20-something episodes.
I'm gonna get hate for this but English Dub > Japanese.
Now that you have finished throwing stuff at me, here's why:
The original Hetalia was fun and silly, but to be perfectly honest, it wasn't fall out of your chair funny. Maybe it's because reading subs isn't the same as hearing your home langauge, but still. I just felt the English dub was funnier. I think of the Japanese dub as the original, and the English Dub as a hilarious but offensive spinoff.
I watch South Park, Family Guy, Drawn together, etc, so I'm pretty used to hearing offensive content, so 5 lines out of an entire season really didn't bother me all that much. It's not like the dub is like "NAZIS ARE GREAT LOLZ", but I can see where some people who aren't dicks like me could be offended.
But yeah, onto the good stuff!
-ERIC VALE AS AMERICA WOAMG I never got the "Eric is king" thing till I watched more than the previews. BUT SERIOUSLY. HIS VOICE. HIS LINES. SO PERFECT. It made America my favorite character. "MORE RUNNING AWAY!!!!111"
-Chibitalia gave me diabetes
-I loved the script changes. All of them.
-AUSTRIA SOUNDS LIKE BRUNO. LIFE = MADE
-Sealand sounds absolutely perfect.
-Did I mention the accents? Because I totally loved the accents.
-"THIS WEATHERMAN IS PREDICTING A 100% CHANCE OF SHITSTORM"
-honhonhonhonhonhon
-Storage Cleaning was EVEN SADDER without the hilarious engrish
On a completely unrelated note, we also watched 28 Days Later, and lemme tell you, it's a lot funnier when you imagine the cast of Hetalia trying to fight off hoards of zombies.
