I wasn't sure when I'd get to see this movie, so I decided to read this and see what other's thought. There seems to be a love-hate thing going.
As to apocalyptic thoughts, I am with you. I don't trust the government and if I didn't live in Florida, US, I would probably have dug myself a bomb shelter by now. :) I wouldn't take the coward's way out. I'd rather die trying, personally. Plus I have a healthy dose of survival skills, and/or know people that have those skills I lack. Not trying to sound like a wacko. :) I do medieval recreation for a hobby, and just the ability to survive in clothes I made myself, in a tent w/o A/C and appliances/electronics is a survival skill I guarantee at least 30% of the US population wouldn't have past 1 month. LOL Possibly one week for some.

You don't sound like a wacko, I'm with you on a lot of what you say. I just can't trust a Government who tries to bully and con their voters into things; who doesn't trust us to have the intelligence to be reasoned with and know what's best for us, so tries the authoritarian version of the naughty step, or the carrot and stick

If we keep hoping for the best, then hopefully the ones younger than us will catch a clue. That's how I feel about it. Now if we could only stop the narrow-minded from breeding and make the idiots who don't believe Global Warming take the red pill. :)
