A friend of my father's was career Royal Navy -- he'd been a captain during the war and spent probably 20 years shipboard one way or another. He did the most beautiful embroidery I've ever seen.

There's a surprising amount of hidden talent among men who spend a lot of time waiting for shit to happen.
