A lesson in faith.... sorta

 I am still 100% unsure of my beliefs but I do know I do not believe in God. I do however, have issues writing off heaven complelety. Not that I think eternity as one age with millions of people, just being a soul sounds fantastic but I hate the idea of things just dying and nothing else to look forward to. I also feel conflicted about religion and God. I was raised as a Christian and went to Catholic school, so it affects my beliefs a lot. But I strongly support gay rights and other social causes that clash with religion. I don't think I can ever be a complete atheist but I have almost given up organized religion. Recently I've been looking in to Unitarian Universalism, which is a church organization that allows people of any beliefs to join. Check out the website, there's some great information: http://www.uua.org/ I think it's a good alternative for people who want some sort of belief in God, but don't like organized religion.

Or maybe just plain atheism would be better for you...Whatever you choose, I hope you find peace with it.

I think it is typical for everyone to questions ones faith now and then. And though I believe in God and was born and raised a Christian, baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. I too have a problem fitting into the mold of a "Christian". This is exactly why I don't go to church on a regular basis. I was deeply offended by my pastor (who is no longer with the church) and his wife. They spewed things about gays and about women who dress "inappropriately ( ... )
