Wedding Ring

So how come no one is discussing that Hugh has stopped wearing his wedding ring? I think its been at least year since I last saw him wear the ring. What do we all think?, I can't see him making any kind of announcement but its very strange for him to suddenly not wear it anymore.

I'm not sure what there is to discuss, really - I mean, he's still clearly with his wife (thank goodness), so there could be any number of reasons why he's not wearing it.

Heck, for all anyone knows, he's lost the damn thing. Wouldn't be the first time.

My icon was about the last time he wore it regularly - that was in August of 2009. It made another appearance in January of 2010, but I don't think it's been seen since, correct me if I'm wrong.

I miss it for two reasons - first, because it's just about the most interesting ring I've ever seen, especially on a man, and secondly - I adore celebs with strong marriages who aren't afraid to show it. (Hugh is a bit different this way - he's always generally seemed to keep his family fairly private, which is certainly his right, and good for him. I still enjoy seeing the husband/father side of him, though.)

How do we know he's still with his wife though? Have there been any photos of them together recently or anything?. I'm just curious is all :)

They were together at the GQ Men of the Year Awards earlier this month. And she was seen with him when he was on tour this summer, in several places.

She also contributed a tiny bit to his album, and in one of the, German interviews, I think, he talks about that and her just a bit, and it's really very sweet.

It is my understanding that he lost it. A ring as unique as that one would be hard to replace, especially if Jo had it created just for him. The sentimental value alone would make it priceless.

I would guess that's probably the case, but how did you come by that understanding? (Now that I'm all curious, LOL!) Only reason I ask is because it initially disappeared after August 2009, and people became concerned because it didn't seem to be reappearing....but then it turned up just once more, months later.

Of course, nothing says he couldn't have lost it twice! :-) Anyone who loses a ring rolling down a sand dune has the ability to lose it anywhere, LOL!

I guess I heard about a year ago (around Emmy time maybe) that he lost it in a park. My memory is not as reliable as it used to be but I do know I heard he lost it.

As I said, that looked like a custom made ring and probably had a lot of sentimental value for him so it isn't like he could slip on a plain gold band and have it be the same.

If I lost a ring like that, I'd prefer not to wear anything.

Yeah, I totally grok that.

That sucks, it really does. And I know whereof I speak...my hubby and I had matching rings (not wedding rings exactly, but a unique stand-in), and he lost his while doing an outdoor play. Coulda gotten shredded by a mower, coulda rolled down a drain, coulda been picked up by some kid.

It bites. :-(

(If it were me, I'd have another made, but it may not be possible, and it still wouldn't be quite the same.)

Yeah, it's been a long long time since he's worn it, like 2 years now. He and his wife are still together (she traveled with him when he was doing his European concerts and she was at the GQ evening with him), so whatever happened to it it is not because of some issue between he and his wife. He may have lost it or he just decided not to wear it anymore.

There's no point speculating about it and Hugh probably isn't going to mention it because really it's no one's business but his.

It was an interesting ring tho.
