My grandfather died last night. He died at the age of eighty eight and his health was slowly detereating for the last two years with little chance of improvement. He was a tough but kind man, and his stamina was incredible ( Read more... )

It doesn't matter how old they are or how poor their health. It's still sad to let someone you love go. I'm sorry for your loss.

Thank you. I really appreciate it. Whenever something like this happens, I question my own mortality. I like to think and feel that I am immortal, but this is far from the case.

I am going to miss him and it is also hard that I didn't see him that much during the last few years of his life.

My condolences!
Loss of a beloved family member is never easy even when it is anticipated.
It sounds like you have some good memories of your grandfather to carry with you in life.

It sounds like you have a lot of good memories associated with your grandfather. And in that, your grandfather will continue to live on from your kind thoughts.

That's how I feel as well and it is why I chose to write about him. This entry will be a memorial to him.
