He looks like he's saying, "What in Melkor's name is this? Guys, I never said I was straightedge. All things in moderation. Get away from me, gah!"
The DM shares Huin!Saruman's discomfiture and offers him a tipple of single malt Scotch and a cigar in solidarity. Lately, the DM has been both bemused and mildly horrified by the popular Tumblrmeme-ish depiction of his Darkness as a "blonds-have-more-fun" effeminate pretty lad with perhaps three synapses firing in his brain. Not That There's Anything Wrong With That. :^D
That said, folks always have different interpretations of those canon characters near and dear to our hearts, and that's cool. Doesn't mean there might not be perplexed and even saucy responses to said interpretations (Professor Thû has a cartoon brewing).
Mr. Aoki does look like what would result if my headcanon Saruman and Pallando had a lovechild though, which I suppose is pretty nifty.
Cue Saruman lurking in a corner in a relieved haze of smoke.
Haha, I believe that all started with Phobs' design for Melkor and Sauron, which I think is pretty well-done but it has spawned a rampant amount of copycat fanart. I like the original character design, but it does seem he keeps getting prettier and blonder and more effeminate in the tumblr fandom's mind. Which, yeah, I can't really see that.

Why am I not surprised? =D
I suppose I take issue (in an amused way) with Straightedge!Saruman because it's contra what is explicitly stated in UT, but then I can't expect everyone to have read UT. Never mind that my Istari all abuse substances of various sorts rather frequently.

Oh, I know it started w/ Phobs' design. Quite right - Phob's is beautifully executed artwork, but, er, the character's still extraordinarily pretty there, too. Add in the obvious bwahaha factor the originals and their knock-offs convey, and it would seem any efforts to bring forth a Sauron who come across as, well, actually intelligent are for naught. But never mind. Teh Pretty is much easier to swallow.
I don't envision Sauron as particularly pretty myself (statuesque, yes), but I didn't get the impression that Phobs' Sauron is necessarily unintelligent. I suppose one can be pretty and like bling and still be intelligent. That said, I might well be projecting my own assumptions that Sauron is intelligent onto the artwork.
Anyway, this was one of the first ones I saw and for some reason it cracked me up and won me over:
