Putting voices to characters: Mairon

I've been thinking for a while that Petyr Baelish sounds a lot like "my" Mairon would sound (not looks like, mind, he could hardly look more dissimilar).  Beginning to rewatch season 2 of Game of Thrones just kind of confirmed that via a scene where Baelish is being particularly manipulative with a crying employee.  Yeah, that's definitely the ( Read more... )

That's a great scene, and indeed, fits with Huinarium!Mairon. (Do I need to say how much I love "Huinarium"?) Really, the manipulation in particular, if not timbre and inflection (which differ in our minds' eyes, I suppose), works with a fairly broad array of fannish Mairons. That threat beneath the velvet voice. Oooooh, yeah. "I hate bad investments..." Heh.

Aidan Gillen is a talented actor, and the video clip as a whole serves to ratchet up my already quivering anticipation of the premiere of Season 3 of GoT!

Yes, effective fannish Mairons do tend to be manipulative across the board, whatever other traits they might not share. >=]

I know, right? It seems like the countdown to S3 has been going on forever..
