It's a tad long for a name, although not for a tagline/motto/whatnot.
AS YET UNNAMED CHALLENGE: Everything is bad and it all hurts.

[AS YET UNNAMED CHALLENGE: BRING THE PAIN!
Ok but in all seriousness. bunn's suggestion above is terribly clever and cracks me up, but I'd have a hard time trying to present a challenge by that name with a straight face? I've been thinking something like "Doom in June" if I aimed for June, which I probably should because the other months don't sound good with "doom." And as far as I know, there are no major challenges going around our neck of the woods in June?
ANYONE FEEL FREE TO CHIME IN HERE WITH SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! =)
I don't believe there's anything major going on then (if you'll thinking they'll be due sometime in June), though I think that's about the time frame Ardor in August/Sultry in September kicks off.
(I'm consolidating your question from upthread into this comment): Would it be a fic exchange or a prompt fest like this year's B2MeM or the now-defunct dark_fest or something else entirely?
Something else entirely! I'm not sure if there's a specific term for this approach, but I liked the informal way aliana1 set up her Bechdel Test Challenge last year: She didn't have any prompts, just a theme (action/adventure); and from what I remember we were just encouraged to work on our stories, talk about our progress, and post links to our output at any time during the month (in that case, January). That seems like a reasonable way to initiate a small challenge.
Yes, I was thinking June as the month they're due, if the above-described approach can be said to have a particular due date. It seems there is stuff of some sort going on year-round. I know AinA's really big, and then NaNo consumes the efforts of many, and then Yule exchanges, and then B2MeM(and somewhere amidst that, the MEFAs eventually...)

(I got more initial response than I was hoping, so I might try and get this off the ground at some point..)

I think THAT should be the proper name.
