That's Constantine Maroulis - prossibly the single most popular American Idol contestant ever.

He got the boot tonight.

Seriously, I think it's rigged or something.

His performance lastnight certainly wasn't his best, but he's polled more than 35 million votes on his own over the course of the season.

No way that he all of a sudden sank to the bottom like that.

Biggest mistake was ever putting that crap on tv in the first place.

if he hadn't sung such a shitty song maybe he'd still be on there. "this is how you remind me" has no real musical merit, doesn't show his range, and he just sounded terrible. I wasn't surprised at all.

Sometimes it does come down to song choice.

He just should've sung something better.

I agree that Constantine sounded pretty terrible on Tuesday night. However, every single contestant has picked the wrong song at some point. He still had a stellar performance.

I was just extremely surprised to see Scott scrape by again lastnight - he sounds terrible EVERY week and his stage presence is pretty much nil. :/

Performance does matter, but vocally Scott did better. I'm not much of a Scott fan myself. Personally I want to see Bo leave the show. I wanted to rip his heart out of his chest after he killed Gavin DeGraw's song...but you know, whatever.

As soon as I heard Constantine perform i knew he was leaving...Carrying the microphone around the stage with you just doesn't do it. And sure, other contestants have definitely picked the wrong songs before - and sometimes it was their downfall. I'm honestly surprised that Anthony hasn't been booted off...he's had more bad picks than most of the other contestants put together.

I guess it just comes down to this: if your song choice is so bad that even a good stage presence/performance can't make people vote for you, you're screwed.
