Sexuality: A huge case of "it's complicated". Most likely asexual out of lack of time and lack of what would be called "normal" romantic skills. Would probably be open to either gender if he could be sure that both of them could be completely safe in the relationship (having a murderous alternate personality makes that difficult) and if he could be sure that he wasn't going to have to go off on a mission on a moment's notice. In effect, pansexual.

Appearance: Allelujah stands at 186 centimeters (about 6 feet and 1 inch), and has a thin yet muscular build. He has heterochromatic eyes (his eyes have different colors - the left eye is grey and the right eye is gold), though whether this is natural or as a result of experimentation isn't known. His hair comes down to about the bottom of his neck, is dark green, and has long bangs that always covers one eye (except in the season finale). If his grey eye is the one that is revealed, the main Allelujah personality is in control, and if it's his gold eye, it's his alternate personality Hallelujah. (In the season finale, though, his hair was lifted up on both sides, showing that he had combined personalities.) Allelujah is normally seen wearing a black (or very dark blue) short-sleeved jumpsuit... thing, with pants included. He has wristbands of the same color material, and he wears a brown belt with a silver buckle on the middle. His boots come up to high on his calves, and are the same color as his belt.
Personality: Allelujah's personality is a little hard to pin down precisely, because what you see isn't always what you get. Allelujah is normally a very gentle person, someone who's kind and thinks of others, and speaks softly and politely. He knows how to buckle down and go to work, and why he should follow the mission (though he has been known to deviate on very rare occasions), but is hesitant to kill. For a while, he hung back on the Ptolemaios to make sure that no one else was hurt while the others were on missions.
Hallelujah, his alternate personality, is another story. Since Hallelujah was formed under a great deal of stress and turmoil, he takes over for things that Allelujah doesn't want to do. He has a very strong sense of survival - kill or be killed is pretty much the only rule that he sticks to. When Allelujah was cast adrift in space with the other failed experiments, Hallelujah took over and shot the others, in order to give him enough air to survive. Allelujah feels responsible for things that Hallelujah does, because it's still him. Hallelujah's manner of speaking is also extremely rude, even going so far as to call women "bitches" and "girlies" if he's annoyed with them. He also likes making people uncomfortable by telling them how upset Allelujah is by what Hallelujah is doing.
Allelujah and Hallelujah can combine (though it's uncertain if they can do this more than once), becoming what they called "the perfect soldier" - a mix of Allelujah's rationality and planning with Hallelujah's battle sense.
One peculiarity about Allelujah is that he sometimes talks to "himself". In his mind's eye, he can see Hallelujah standing near him, and they'll sometimes have conversations - though this usually consists of Hallelujah trying to convince Allelujah to his point of view. Occasionally Allelujah will say something out loud, and not realize that whomever's near him can't hear Hallelujah. When caught, he just brushes it off with something along the lines of "it's nothing", though it does worry him.
Abilities/Strengths: Allelujah is an expert pilot. Though he usually pilots the Gundam Kyrios, he could probably figure out how to pilot other things. Having Hallelujah is a bit of a strength, though he sometimes doesn't think so, because Hallelujah is willing to do things that Allelujah just feels are morally wrong. Hallelujah can block out quantum waves - interference from others used in the HRL's Super Soldier projects, though he doesn't do it often because it usually convinces Allelujah to let him take control. As stated above, Allelujah and Hallelujah can combine to become “the perfect soldier”, a mixture of planning and battle senses. As another note, even though it doesn't come up in the series much (if at all), since Allelujah seems quite fit, he could probably hold his own in a fistfight, though he's much more used to fighting in a Gundam.
Weaknesses: One of Allelujah's big weaknesses is the fact that if there's any sort of quantum wave interference, or any other experiment from the Super Soldier program around, it causes him great physical pain. The Super Soldiers are mentally linked, and have the same brain waves (most likely just the same frequency). Allelujah's reluctance to kill or to put innocent people in danger has lead him to taking some unnecessary risks in battle to protect people. When he switches to Hallelujah, he can't control his battle instincts at all - it's all up to Hallelujah, who usually doesn't feel like showing pity or remorse, and can get caught up in the moment. He also has a tendency to misjudge situations sometimes, and when people don't react how he expects them to, it throws him off.
History: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... okay maybe not. Actually, this galaxy, this planet, in the future - 2307 A.D. to be exact. The world faced a crisis quite familiar to most people who pay attention to their modern gas pump - fossil fuels had pretty much run out. Fortunately, the three main federations of Earth - the World Economic Union ("Union", in control of North and South America, Australia, and Japan), the Human Reform League ("HRL", basically in control of most of the rest of Asia and part of Russia), and the Advanced European Union ("AEU", who despite their name were really pretty much in charge of Africa as well as most of Europe) - came up with huge solar power systems called "orbital elevators". Unfortunately, the energy wasn't evenly distributed (big surprise in the world of politics) and so there were still a lot of wars going on.
The Human Reform League decided to try to gain an edge in combat, and created the "Super Soldier Special Duty Organization", which basically experimented on children to turn them into, well... super soldiers. Some of the test subjects were known to be bred for these experiments, but it's unknown whether Allelujah Haptism was a test-tube baby or if he was an orphan taken into the program.
He spent pretty much his entire childhood subjected to various tests and experiments and trials, and the trauma caused him to develop a split personality, Hallelujah, who would stop at nothing in order to survive. One of the other children in these trials was Marie Parfacy, later known as Soma Peries, whom Allelujah befriended. They would talk to each other in their minds, a result of whatever modification that allowed Allelujah to use quantum brain waves. Marie was considered a complete, successful super soldier, while Allelujah was considered a failure, and he and some of his fellow experiments stole a transport ship and escaped the facility, though he had to leave Marie behind. The oxygen in the ship started to run out, and Hallelujah killed the others in order to survive. He somehow escaped the ship and was later picked up by Celestial Being.
Celestial Being was a group that was dedicated to eradicating war through force. It was founded 200 years earlier by a man named Aeolia Schenberg, who developed the "GN Drives" (basically a power source that seems to be run on solar energy), with a supercomputer known as "Veda" at the center of it. Veda chose Allelujah to become a "Gundam Meister" (someone who piloted a Gundam - a giant "mobile suit" robot), and he trained with the other three that were chosen (Lockon Stratos, Tieria Erde, and Setsuna F. Seiei) for at least two years (it's never stated exactly how long the training lasted). Allelujah's Gundam was known as "Kyrios".
Celestial Being's first mission with the Gundam Meisters was preventing a terrorist attack at HRL's orbital elevator. The terrorists were stopped, and the Meisters went back to the Ptolemaios (Celestial Being's ship) to prepare for more missions.
A few more missions happened without huge incident - Celestial Being was known to the world now, and they intervened in some arm conflicts and bombed some cocaine fields. The Taribia Republic succeeded from the Union to try to get Celestial Being to protect them instead of the Union - but Celestial Being attacked Taribia. Taribia realized it had messed up and rejoined the Union right afterwards.
After that mission, Allelujah had to use HRL's orbital elevator to return to the ship. When he got to the station, he suddenly had tremendous headaches because Soma was around and they shared the same brain waves, basically. Allelujah tried to resist the intrusion, but it was Hallelujah who did it, causing Soma to panic. She shot the station and broke off sections. Allelujah hauled butt to his Gundam and went to help rescue people - and he was joined by Lieutenant Colonel Smirnov from the HRL who came when he heard the distress call.
The Moralia mission happened after that, but there wasn't anything really relevant to Allelujah besides the fact that he helped eliminate some forces from PMC Trust, a private military contractor, and Setsuna opened his cockpit to reveal himself to an enemy mobile suit and Allelujah calmed the group down when they argued about it. Also there were some terrorist attacks but Allelujah wasn't one of the Meisters assigned to go take care of them.
HRL wanted to study a Gundam, so they assigned Smirnov to the job. Smirnov and Soma joined together with a bunch of other mobile suits to try to capture a Gundam. Allelujah got separated from the group and had headaches again since Soma was close. Kyrios (his Gundam) was captured and taken back to an HRL carrier. Tieria was going to destroy the carrier and Allelujah with it since he saw this "weakness" as a sign that Allelujah wasn't fit to be a Meister, but Hallelujah took control, broke free, and started harassing Soma and HRL units. Hallelujah killed Lieutenant Ming, and once Allelujah regained control, he questioned whether he was really human based on Hallelujah's actions.
Allelujah and Hallelujah had an argument, and Allelujah decided to try to redeem himself and take care of his past in a mission he proposed to Celestial Being's tactical forecaster (and Veda) - destroy the Super Soldier facility. The mission was approved, and he was sent out. Once he reached the facility, he hesitated, questioning if those inside could be saved. Hallelujah told him that they were just going to be raised to be the enemy, and to just fire. Allelujah did eventually fire, and sped away from the facility as fast as he could. Afterwards, he had a birthday drink with said forecaster, Miss Sumeragi.
After this, Sunrise started to hate Allelujah Allelujah started to emo Allelujah chose to stay on the ship more often, possibly out of guilt or not wanting to hurt more innocent people. Eventually, though, he did get sent out, this time to the Taklamakan desert, with Lockon. Soma appeared again and Hallelujah took over, but Kyrios was eventually captured. As it was being dragged back to the HRL base, three new Gundams appeared. They were piloted by the Trinity siblings (Johann, Nena, and Michael), and Johann freed Allelujah while Nena provided cover.
The crew of the Ptolemaios and the Trinity siblings met up and discussed things... which mostly consisted of Johann telling the Ptolemy's crew that he couldn't give them any information, but that they were part of Celestial Being and got their orders from Veda. However, after they left the Trinities started attacking targets with a large amount of civilians, so Setsuna flew off and engaged them. And then all the Meisters except for Allelujah had bonding time.
... Then Allelujah was on a routine scouting mission and his Gundam blew up.
