Rachel,
I’ve been doing so much of my communication online that I finally got a more permanent email account. It’s a free one, so it’s obviously untraceable for the most part, but now getting in touch with me should be easier. You can reach me here from now on.
I wanted to give you a heads up...They caught up to us. You know who I mean...they didn’t find us specifically, but they went after a friend of Linc’s. You may remember her from the coffee shop where you met LJ a while back.
I don’t *know* that they know about you...but I’m not taking any chances. Do what you can to keep a low profile...leave town if it’s feasible. Not that you can’t handle yourself, I’m sure...but I don’t want you to have to.
By the way, I didn’t thank you before for that heads up about Kilborn...you really saved our hides, that town was crawling with Feds. I wish I could do more than thank you for stuff like that than just warn you about impending trouble...and mark my words, when we blow the lid off this thing...well, how does dinner sound to you?
One of these days...it sounds so distant, saying that. One of these days...when it won’t be all shadow dealings and cloak-and-dagger ruses to fool the other side. I keep telling Linc this will eventually end...and you keep telling me that the truth will prevail. I want to believe that so badly...but the longer this goes on, I more I realize that it’s not a matter of wanting.
I *have* to believe this will be over soon. Hope is the best weapon that I have against The Company, because hope keeps me going...and as long as I keep going, I know that the things they’ve done will eventually be dragged into the spotlight.
I have you to keep reminding me of that...I just thought you should know.
