Today I get to take Smeagol back to the vet, where I am hoping they will spare him the humiliation of the dreaded Elizabethan collar

Ouch. I can't even imagine - I've tended a lot of cat injuries but never one to the paw pad like this. They need to invent a boot for the kitty, like those weird toe shoes I keep seeing people wearing.

I hope Smeagol's paw gets better soon.
