Here are two photos. One from August, and one from yesterday. To say Selwyn has grown would be an understatement. He's a solid 13 lbs, according to our scale, and feels it compared to Hubero, who weighs in at 10.5 lbs.
Yes! Just add water, and in 6 months, you too can have a house Puma! The photos are almost exactly 6 months apart. He was a bit over 3 months old in the first one, and still very white. Neither photo does a good job of illustrating how his color has changed, because of the lighting. Hard to believe that giant, muscular beast of a cat was so ill when he was rescued that he almost lost an eye due to infection.
I was very glad to be able to get a photo of him. He looks like he's found the most amazingly comfortable spot, but there's no way that didn't poke his ribs. I blame the sun.
He's... huge. My parents have a cat whose ideal weight is 16 lbs (he's about 2 lbs over that), and my mother says Selwyn's growth is ahead of where their cat was at his age.
I love it, great pictures. He's one handsome beastie. See what lovin' will do... it makes them grow up healthy. In the kitten picture he still looks a bit apprehensive about you. It's obvious how content and happy he is in the grown-up picture.
He and his litter were so fortunate to have such great foster care. And he has been eating good food since he was tiny, so that probably helps, too.
The kitten photo was from about 3 weeks after we got him, so lots of things were still new, and he'd only just been allowed out of "his" room at night. Hubero was still unsure of him sometimes, but they were starting to get along pretty well.
He's so funny. He'll sleep just about anywhere, if he fits.

Also, that's not a small cat.
