I'm really fearing how large he may yet become. My parents have a huge cat, who is admittedly at least a pound overweight (at 18 lbs) but my mom says Selwyn is well ahead of where he was at this age. I could really barely hold onto him for this photo... He's 13 lbs of solid muscle, and very strong when he wants to be. Fortunately, he is extremely gentle and has a dog-like drive to please his humans. He's really calmed Hubero down a great deal. Their slow-motion play wrestling matches are so funny.
My hair hasn't been purple since sometime in 2000, I think. I'm working towards a vivid blue-violet, which my hair hasn't been since about 1996, or so. Also, the purple works better with brown roots than red ever did, and fades to a nice shade.
He is impressively large. A friend's experience with exceptionally large cats has indicated that it doesn't necessarily mean that they're all that much stronger or more destructive in play, though, so unless he runs around and crashes into things a lot (which could be damaging in itself), it won't necessarily mean more trouble. It'll just mean a big honkin' beast. :)
And I like the hair. I miss violet, but I'm not dedicated enough to do it and keep it up properly.
I'm finding I can let the roots go a bit longer with the purple/violet, as my hair is naturally dark brown, than I ever could with red - natural or fire engine. Not sure why. The two hour processing time under the plastic cap is something I have to plan for, though. But the color makes me feel better, and more like myself, so its worth it.
Selwyn gets wound up and runs, which can be a problem. He grew SO fast that his coordination was just terrible for a while. He had a very hard time jumping up on something as low as the couch without wiping out sometimes. He's gotten better the last two months, or so, since his growth is slowing. Also, his spurts of running around the front parlor and up along the back of the couch and taking flying leaps across the room have mostly diminished, much to everyone's relief.

God damn, cat!
(I don't think I've seen your hair purple before. It's good.)

Selwyn is a beast, but a very gentle beast.
