Journal #5 - Psoriasis Argh!!

For anyone who suffers from a skin condition like eczema or psoriasis you will know how frustrating it can be.  I too am a psoriasis sufferer and have had it for about 10 years.  When I first had it, spots would appear and then disappear after sometime.  My left elbow is the only spot on my body where the psoriasis has continued to attack since I ( Read more... )

They have prescription creams for that at the dermatologist. There's one here constantly advertised on tv and in the magazines in the states called HUMIRA. It appears to work very well. I had an old boyfriend who suffered from psoriasis. He was Jewish, and he used to say that going to the Dead Sea helped him tremendously as did the minerals from a body and hand cream called AHAVA, made from the Dead Sea mineral salts. My ex was a big guy too but I don't know if his weight had anything to do with his psoriasis flaring up ( ... )

There is a hot springs near me that I think I should try for the minerals. I have a friend who tried it as she suffers psoriasis and said it helped.

I can only think that those salts are 'purifying' in that sense. You should check out that AHAVA stuff too.

The nourish cream is only a very mild cream but it has made a huge improvement on my elbow! Elsewhere not much difference yet, but it's a start. The coco scalp has really made a difference though. I haven't been nearly as itchy as I was prior to using it :).
