So, there I was doing my bit for the community - standing in a parish hall taking names of folk who had come to look at old photos - when one of the children's entertainer-types came alongside me. Now this guy looks like he should be at a folk festival doing circus skills, and I suppose that's what he was there for

That's awesome. Very, very lucky. Serendipitous even. Sounds like a lot of fun. :-) To me, your bodhran playing already sounded great, but did the lesson improve it?
