A/N: Eh. Something short for a light read before bed. :)

---------

The colourful christmas lights flickered endlessly on the small tree in the corner of her living room. Taeyeon was paying little attention to the movie playing, and was only vaguely aware that the girl next to her on the couch was scooting even closer.

Tiffany added colours to her dull life; that was what Taeyeon believed. Her life was mundane, and maybe it was because of her work as a painter, but she really was at home all the time. She could go out and paint, but she hated the fact that people could stop and look at her unfinished work. It was distracting. She worked best indoors, within the walls of her own home. Maybe it was due to that, but while she loved being home, life had became rather boring for her.

Without Tiffany, life seemed rather...gray, if she really had to pick a colour for it.

She would have just stayed in her room, all day, within the actually gray walls; the colour she picked when she moved in because the shade seemed to fit with most of her furniture, giving her room a elegant classy feel to it. She thought now, she might have been better off with another colour. She could use livelier colours in her life.

When she wasn't working on a painting, sometimes she would paint her nails, or take out her colouring book -- all in a conscious attempt to literally add some colour to her day. She would even, sometimes, get up from bed or the couch, and attempt to bake because just a pinch of the rainbow sprinkles could make a boring brown baked cupcake a lot brighter.

Nothing could compare, though, the way her life lights up whenever Tiffany was around. Her girlfriend would often come into her apartment; unannounced, and uninvited, but always welcomed.

Tiffany liked making herself at home at her place, but Taeyeon wouldn't have wanted it any other way. She was really just waiting for the right time to ask the girl to move in with her, because they had been dating for 2 years now. While it might still be too fast for some people, she figured, why not? She loved her, and she loved having her around. It was that simple to her.

It might be due to the nature of her career, but she liked comparing everything-Tiffany to a colour.

Her smile could put the bright golden-yellow sun to shame, always making her smile along even when she had a rough day. It was absolutely radiant and it was hard not to smile when Tiffany was always looking so happy. The girl was the energy booster she needed, lifting her up high whenever she felt low.

Her laughter would be the colour of baby blue, her personal favourite colour for her favourite sound in the world. There was nothing like making Tiffany laugh; nothing like that wonderful feeling bubbling in her chest when Tiffany laughed heartily, leaning physically on her for support.

Her lips, the lovely shade of pink, just as her cheeks were the first time they kissed. The kiss that came before the confession. The kiss that till the current day, was the source of debate on who had leaned in first. Something neither wanted to give in. Something they had never come to a conclusion about.

Her heart was of the darkest purple, as she often found it mysterious and warm all at the same time. The depth that it held, the compassion and love Tiffany was capable of, was nothing less than admirable to her.

Her eyes, brown as it was, Taeyeon liked to refer to them as green; just like the tranquility she found in them everytime their eyes meet. They said that the eyes were the windows to one's soul and Taeyeon found that there was so much that she could understand, just by looking into her eyes alone.

When they fight, and Tiffany refused to meet her eyes or talk to her, everything would just momentarily fade to black, as if someone had switched the lights off. Taeyeon absolutely hated that part, but when her upset girlfriend finally calms down enough to look at her and reaches out to hold her hand, wanting to make up and talk it out, no particular colour could compare to that moment. The weight on her chest would lift, and even when she was previously upset herself, the clouds would shift and she would see all the wonderful colours again, all at once. There were really many different shades of Tiffany, and even though it had been 2 years that they’ve been dating, she felt like she would have a whole lifetime to know everything about her - as much as she possibly could.

Right now, as Tiffany lounged comfortably on her couch, her arms casually going around Taeyeon as they watched reruns of Christmas movies on television, she thought again about how Tiffany looked absolutely gorgeous in that red sweater she had gotten her last christmas. Red, she had picked it because that was how Tiffany's personality was; sometimes fiesty, but always burning with passion, and confidence. Tiffany had no trouble, whatsoever, trying to catch - or keep - her attention.

The girl started to shift in her seat, seemingly growing aware that Taeyeon was now staring at her so she stared back questioningly, only to break out into a grin. Tiffany leaned in to give her a soft peck on her lips before pulling back, her smile growing soft.

"Love you too, baby,” she said before returning to her previous position to resume watching the movie.

Taeyeon smiled at that, how could she not?

White as the snow that fell outside her windows, but white was really the only thing she could refer to as the purity of the love she felt whenever Tiffany held her close-- so careful and gentle, the way she would have held her heart.
