Day 237--T-Plus Three Weeks; The Lack of Posts

I hope no one thinks that my lack of blog posts over the last several days is a sign that things have taken a turn for the worse. On the contrary, I am really feeling a lot better. I had a meeting with the surgeon yesterday and he cleared me to drive, to take of the binder if I feel like it, and to "return" to work at Elmhurst for the start of

WHY ARE YOU COUGHING?? Is coughing allowed as part of the recovery process? This isn't something horrible, is it? (Note: I know I shouldn't panic, since you have a teddy bear named Sir Koff-a-Lot, which would indicate that coughing after major heart surgery is pretty normal. BUT I WORRY ANYWAY. Thus the caps-lock of emphasis.)

Just heard of your operation and it doesn't surprise me about how well you seem to be doing! I always heard about what a strong man you are from your mom.You listen to her-- moms and dads just seem to know what is best for their kids(I know you are a man)! It must have been wonderful to have your whole family as your cheering section. I will have a few candles lit for you here in Overland Park for that extra help everyone needs. Keep up that wonderful spirit you have--I know you will be good as new in just a little while.You could take mom with you to help lecture--she is great in front of a classroom!!
