Day 269--The Verdict Is In. Babies? Exhausting.

I think the most surprising thing about the visit from Aidan and his chaperones is how exhausted I am after their visit. Everything related to the kid is tiring. A quick trip to Target requires getting the car seat set and finding a dry shopping cart so that he's not sitting in water. You have to make sure to constantly have food and diapers and

Come on Uncle Brian.... stop your complaining. Just because you recently had a major surgery doesn't give you an excuse for being exhausted after a visit with a 6 month old. He is a really good baby but it is always harder when you aren't at home and don't have all the 'equipment' to help keep him entertained. It will be more relaxing over the holidays! :) Aidan did ask me after we got home yesterday- if he could come up and stay a whole week with you by himself and I told him that was a great idea!! I will pack his bags and send him your way. I will let you pick up the diapers though - I hear they have diapers in Chicago... is this true??? Love Krystal

Well, and the thing about babies is that the whole thing is very temporary (it doesn't seem that way at the time, but in retrospect...) They are also exhausting as toddlers/preschoolers, but at least they can feed themselves and hold up their end of a conversation. The entertainment value kind of pays you back for the effort. And they start sleeping and stop wearing diapers. But I hear that then they turn into teenagers, and you just want to send them back where they came from.
