people (and nations) are ridiculous

200 lebanese civilians have died in bombings laid down by israel's 'non-terrorist' army because some 'terrorist' group called hezbollah kidnapped two of their soldiers.

so what they're saying is... killing a couple hundred (and counting) of lebanon's innocent civilians will get their soldiers back? man, FUCK israel. and fuck zionism.

i guess the official line is that after israel pulled out of lebanon like six years ago, hezbollah has stockpiled 12000 missles from iran in civilian areas. and i guess israelis have kind of been wanting to go at lebanon the last couple of years and now they can. and the dude from the ny times thought that this is basically all orchestrated by iran, to get people to stop talking about iran's nuclear program. or thats what they want us to think. plus i guess you can't really call a government's army a "terrorist army", thats kind of more reserved for non state-sanctioned groups, and the lebanese government can't/won't do anything about hezbollah.

yeah, that all makes sense. but still, zionism is ridiculous, something i'll probably never be able to comprehend. and it's always a tragedy when civilians have to die like that ( ... )

that is crazy. i don't even know how to judge shit like that. we live in a mind-numbingly complicated world. imagine shit like that in america? it would be unheard of. why are poor people in other countries allowed to die without people blinking an eye. i think i'm gonna just run through the streets screaming tomorrow.

"mind-numbingly complicated" is right. and ditto on your point about how it would be unheard of here. regardless of how informed any of are on the situation, we can all agree its pretty unfair. And israel has just been itching for conflict with these countries. in my uninformed opinion, they have so much influence on american foreign policy that they were waiting for the u.s. to lead the charge, but since that hasn't happened at the desired pace, they're taking this opportunity to start things and i'd imagine they expect the u.s. to back them up, regardless of how over-extended the military is in iraq.

It's retarded too because killing those 200 people is going to cause about 800 more people to join hezbolah, oopsy.

I'd like to believe that Isreal is in the same situation as America in that conservative assholes run things while 49% of the contry is hella angry.

i'm really pissed at the BBC for taking the side of israel:

just look at the language in this text: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5195128.stm

they are suggesting in so many words that state-sanctioned violence against civilians is semi-legit. they are also suggesting that hezbollah is more about having the primary goal of killing civilians, and that israel is just trying to achieve a cause that it deserves to pursue. as if israel isn't normally about killing civilians (hello? palestinian civilians like everyday). fucking bullshit.

the BBC just dropped a couple notches in integrity for me. i thought they weren't about pushing agendas.
